Overview
- Bucknell joins a small but deep field with Georgetown, James Madison, host Maryland, and other strong regional foes.Â
- The meet serves as a final warmup for the Patriot League Outdoor Championships in two weeks.Â
- US National Champion Evelyn Bliss and three-time NCAA qualifier Brylee Tereska are scheduled to throw in the competition.Â
- The Bison will compete in every single event.Â
- Traditionally, the league meet was this weekend before the conference decided to push back the competition this season.Â
- Bliss continued her reign of record-setting by easily winning the javelin throw. Her toss of 59.35m (194-8) set the facility and meet records. Three-time United States national champion Lynda Lipson-Blutreich's 1997 distance of 58.56m (192-1) was the previous facility record. Irene Jepkemboi, of TCU, established the meet record in 2025 - 56.46m (185-2).Â
- The performance gave Bliss an award trifecta of the Penn Relays Women's College Individual of the Meet, Patriot League Outdoor Women's Field Athlete of the Week, and Bison of the Week.
- Bliss has won three Patriot League Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week awards this season becoming the first Bison since fellow javelineer Laura Rycek (2011).Â
- Tereska joined Bliss in claiming the top two spots for the Bison. The senior thrower obtained a mark of 47.77m (156-8)
- The quartet of Katrina Torelli, Jenna Wright, Grace Vives, and Shaelan McNally finished 11th and set the school record in the distance medley relay by running 11:30.52.Â
- Julia Sobilo claimed tenth place in the discus by throwing 45.28m (148-7). She earned her second Patriot League Women's Rookie of the Week, becoming the first Bison since Bliss (2024) to duplicate the feat.Â
- Meghan Rentner continued her magnificent 2026 outdoor season with another top ten mark. She slotted 22nd in the 3000-meter steeplechase but her time of 10:30.31 ranked second all-time at Bucknell. Rentner entered the day at seventh all-time at Bucknell.Â
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Amani Brown, Preston Lubeski, Garrett Backus, and Luke Petryna were the only quartet to reach the finals. They finished fifth with a time of 41.54.Â
