Bucknell Men's Cross Country to Compete at Siena Invite on Saturday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's cross country team will travel to New York on Saturday, September 10 when it takes part in the Siena Invite in Colonie, N.Y. this weekend.

- The Bison, coming off a victory against Patriot League competition on Friday evening on its home course, are set to run in the state of New York for the first time since September 7, 2019 when the squad competed at the Harry Lang Invite hosted by Colgate.
- Bucknell posted a solid opening meet, winning the Bison Open with 31 points to edge out Loyola (Md.) (47) Lafayette (68), and American (79).
- Samuel Whittaker had a fantastic start to his senior season, winning the race by over 21 seconds ahead of runner-up Russell Sullivan of American. Whittaker led a contingent of four Bison runners in the top ten, along with first-year Trent Dinant (3rd), sophomore Grayson Crockett (6th), and first-year Henry Didden (10th).
- Ben Santos also scored for the Bison on the day, finishing 11th overall. Santos was joined in the top 20 by teammates Noah Martin, Bobby Lynam, Mason Siebenhaar, and Jayson Harmer.
- The Crossings of Colonie course, the home course of Siena cross country, will also host the MAAC Championships on October 29.
- After the Siena Invite, the Bison will take a week off before returning to compete at the Boston College Invite on Friday, September 23.
