Mueller, McDonald Win A Doubles Flight at Bucknell Invitational

RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Nick Mueller and freshman Brendan McDonald won the A Doubles title, and McDonald and fellow rookie Amar Tahirovic are both still alive in the main singles draws after two days of play at the Bucknell Invitational.
Mueller and McDonald won their opening-round match on Friday, and then on Saturday they won twice more to claim the title. They defeated Elliot Stevens and Giovani Abriola 6-3 in the semifinals and then came back to defeat Arman Ganchi and Jake Magnusson of Patriot League rival Lafayette in the final.
In singles play, Tahirovic defeated Marc Fuste of Saint Francis (Pa.) 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals at A Singles, and then he advanced to Sunday's final with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ganchi. Mueller also won twice in that flight before falling in the semifinals, and Tim Zelikovsky and Michael Owen both won in the consolation draw.
At B Singles, McDonald prevailed in a first-set tiebreaker and then took the second set 6-3 from Lafayette's Connor McLeod, putting him into the semifinals where he will next face Mount St. Mary's Nick Huynh.
The tournament wraps up Sunday with the conclusion of singles play, starting at 9 a.m. at the Varsity Tennis Courts.
