Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Play at West Point Invitational

RESULTS
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Bucknell women's tennis team wrapped up play at the West Point Invitational on Sunday. The Bison had a strong weekend overall but fell a bit short of flight championships on Sunday.
Madi Sebulsky made it to the E Singles semifinals, where she dropped a close match 7-6 (10-8), 6-4 to Meg Harding of Fairfield. Harding went on to win the flight. Kate Novak came back to win three straight matches to claim the E Singles consolation draw. Novak defeated Stony Brook's Aradhana Jayakrishna in a tiebreaker in the consy quarterfinals, then took down Binghamton's Abby Ackroyd 8-2 and Fairfield's Lucie Tuttle 8-6.
Falling in another tight match was Anna Lajos, who was beaten 8-6 by Lize-Alet Morkel of Fairfield in the A Singles consolation semifinals.
At A Doubles, Whitney King and Abby Platt had advanced to the quarterfinals before falling 6-2 to the Syracuse duo of Polina Kozyreva and Miyuka Kimoto, who were NCAA Tournament qualifiers last spring. Kozyreva and Kimoto, who was once the No. 1 ranked U18 player in Japan, were the eventual A Doubles champions.
The Bison are back in action next Friday through Sunday at the Loyola Invitational in Baltimore.
