Men’s Golf in 8th at Macdonald Cup

RESULTS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Jackson Bussell fashioned a run of five straight birdies to finish off a first-round 69, and freshman Andres Barraza fired a second-round 70 to lead the Bucknell men's golf team on day one of the Macdonald Cup at the Yale Golf Course.
The tournament is utilizing a play-6, count-5 format, and the Bison posted a pair of 368 team scores on Saturday. The 736 total puts them in eighth place in the 11-team field, ahead of Penn, Fordham, and Hartford.
Minnesota turned in a 10-under 340 in the second round and leads the field with a 701 total. Harvard is just two shots back, while Richmond (710), St. John's (710), and Yale (712) round out the top five.
Bussell is the low Bison at 141 total, two better than Barraza. Bussell followed his 69 with an afternoon 72, and he is in a tie for 12th place. He started his first round on the 10th hole and was sitting at 4-over on the day with five holes remaining. He proceeded to finish 2-3-3-3-2 for five straight birdies and a 4-under 30 on his second nine.
Barraza is T-23rd after shooting 73-70. He tallied four birdies to cancel out four bogeys en route to the even-par 70 in round two.
Also for Bucknell on Saturday, Blake Wisdom bounced back from a morning 78 to shoot 72 in the second round. Jack Gardner shot 72-78, Michael Rudnick posted 78-76, and James Key shot 76-79.
St. John's Peicheng Chen had a big day, shooting 64-65 for an 11-under 129. Yale's Will Lodge is second at 5-under (69-66), followed by three others at 3-under.
