RESULTS
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – The Bucknell men's golf team compiled a 303 team score on Sunday and fell four places to a ninth-place finish at the Cornell/Temple Invitational. Freshman James Key was the low Bison in the final round with a 74.
Bucknell shot 287 in the first round on Saturday and finished the 36-hole tournament at 590. Co-host Temple took home the first-place trophy with a 1-over-par total of 561. First-round leader Rhode Island finished second at 564, followed by Penn (577), Columbia (578), and Cornell (578). The Bison finished 15 strokes in front of the only other Patriot League team in the field, Lafayette.
Blake Wisdom followed his opening-round 67 with a 75 and was the low Bison for the weekend with a 2-over total of 142. That was good for a T-9th finish in a field of 84 competitors. Wisdom made an eagle for the second straight day, this one coming at the par-5 third hole. The Bison dominated the third on Sunday. In addition to Wisdom's eagle, the other five Bucknell players, including indie Michael Rudnick, birdied the hole.
Bucknell also counted a 76 from Jackson Bussell and a 78 from freshman Andres Barraza on Sunday. Rudnick closed out a strong weekend with a 75.
Temple's Ethan Whitney was the medalist with a 5-under 135 (66-69). Brandon Gillis of Rhode Island was three shots back, and Canisius' Ryan Edholm was the only other player in red numbers at -1.
Bucknell returns to action next weekend at Yale's Macdonald Cup.
