LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell rowing team placed 33 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll on Monday. The Bison, who were runners-up at the 2022 Patriot League Championship, also fared well in the classroom with a strong combined grade-point average of 3.42.
To be named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 3.20 GPA during the semester in which their team competed. This marks the fifth consecutive academic year the League has topped 3,000 honor roll selections. Bucknell recorded a League-high 460 student-athletes on the academic honor roll in 2021-22, including 311 during the winter-spring season.
Among the rowing team's selections were 25 student-athletes who also made the Dean's List with GPAs of 3.50 or better and 10 who achieved perfect 4.0 GPA. One of those 4.0s came from senior Kate Meerscheidt, an anthropology and English/literary studies double major who was selected as the 2022 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Joining Meerscheidt in the 4.0 club were Macy Albaitis, Elizabeth Berlinger, Riley DeBaecke, Ollie McDonald, Jaclyn Romano, Dehlia Rotchford, Chloe Segal, Erin Sullivan, and Ella Van Benschoten.
