LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell director of athletics and recreation Jermaine Truax has announced the promotion of Jen Kentera to executive senior associate director of athletics and chief of staff.
Kentera has been part of the Bucknell Athletics leadership team since September 2018, serving as senior associate AD for leadership development. In July 2021 she added the responsibility of Senior Woman Administrator.
Kentera coordinates Bucknell's comprehensive student-athlete enrichment program, oversees the department's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and serves as the sports administrator for several Bison programs. While continuing in those critical roles, Kentera will now lead the development and execution of initiatives detailed in the new Bucknell Athletics Strategic Plan, which will be released later this year. She will also work closely with Truax by serving as project manager for select assignments and as an executive liaison with various campus constituents.
"Jen is a gifted and versatile member of our leadership team and is highly regarded within our department, the Patriot League, and around the country," said Truax. "Jen will play a significant role in the implementation of many of the initiatives outlined in our new strategic plan that will position Bison Athletics to be the preeminent program in the Patriot League with the central focus on providing a first-class student-athlete experience."
During her time with the Bison, Kentera created the enrichment program to provide student-athletes with intentional high-impact opportunities and connections to resources and key partnerships and to support them during their time here at Bucknell, as well as prepare them to be successful in their experiences beyond. The comprehensive program continues to grow in how it holistically supports the Bison student-athlete experience in the areas of health and wellness, professional development, personal excellence, leadership growth, community and campus engagement, and social responsibility.
