- Bucknell is scheduled to play one game each on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a potential championship-deciding game on Thursday, if necessary. All game times are set for 1 p.m. at Doubleday Field.
- Bucknell last traveled to Army in the postseason in 2018, when the top-seeded Black Knights defeated Bucknell in a deciding game three, 4-2. Bucknell won game one, 4-1, behind a complete-game, nine-inning performance in Bucknell's 4-1 win. However, Army stormed back to take games two and three to advance to the Patriot League Championship Series.
- The two teams also met in 2010, 2008, and 1997 at Doubleday Field in the Patriot League Tournament. Bucknell took a deciding game three in the semifinals in 2010 before going on to win the Patriot League Championship that season, and also defeated the Black Knights in the semis in 2008 before going on to defeat Florida State in the first game of the NCAA Regional that season.
- Bucknell went 3-2 against the Black Knights this season, taking both games in Lewisburg, while Army took two of three in West Point.
- Army has won four in a row, taking two wins over Lafayette before sweeping fourth-seeded Holy Cross in the Patriot League Semifinal Series by scores of 9-3 and 14-2.
- In five games against the Black Knights, First Team All-Patriot League pick Chris Cannizzaro is hitting .474 (9-for-19), scoring eight runs and adding six RBIs during that stretch. Fellow senior Kendall Pierson has also been involved offensively when called upon against Army, going 6-for-12 with an inside-the-park home run and two runs scored in four appearances against the Black Knights. Pierson also currently has an eight-game hitting streak.
- Tyler O'Neill (2.75) and Will Greer (3.75) both have sub-four ERAs against Army this season in two appearances, with O'Neill also posting six strikeouts over 13.1 innings while limiting the Black Knights to a .178 batting average. O'Neill was instrumental in helping Bucknell take game one against Lehigh in relief of Greer.
- Greer has accumulated eight strikeouts in 12 innings against Army, and earned his third win of the season at Depew on March 26.
- Greer tossed six innings while striking out four and allowing three earned runs before senior Andrew Funovits earned the save in striking out the side in the seventh. Funovits has joined elite company in the Bucknell record books, recording his ninth career save against Lehigh in the semifinals to move into a tie for fifth on Bucknell's all-time list with Alex Cillo.
- In Bucknell's three games against Army in West Point, the team that took the initial lead went on to fall in all three games. The Bison also did well in coming from behind in the semifinals, overturning multiple-run deficits in each, and also came back from a 3-0, first-inning deficit in a 9-5 victory in West Point on April 30. However, Bucknell is 12-7 in games after scoring in the first inning, and 13-9 overall when scoring first this season. Bucknell has scored its most runs in the first inning this season (48), 11 runs higher than the third inning this season (37).
- Senior Brendan Lowery will look to continue his excellent run of form, where the native of Randolph, N.J. has picked up multiple hits in two of his past three games, and has also added eight RBIs over that time span. Lowery's grand slam in the clinching game against Lehigh helped Bucknell turn a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 lead.
- Fellow seniors Logan Kellerman and Cannizzaro each homered in Bucknell's 9-5 win over Army, with the home run for Kellerman the first of his career. Kellerman is hitting .389 (7-for-18) in his last six games, with three RBIs and three runs scored.
- Grant Voytovich has put together four straight multi-hit games, and now leads the team with 17 multi-hit outings this season. The sophomore also leads the team with ten multi-RBI games this season.
- Sophomore Anthony Sherwin has reached base in 12 straight games, and ranks second on Bucknell's all-time, single-season list with 37 walks this season. Sherwin needs just four walks to reach Luke Hartman's single-season record of 41 set in 2018.
- Bucknell is 62-79 in the all-time series between the two schools.
