Women's Tennis Sweeps Colgate, 4-0

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Bucknell women's tennis team swept Colgate, 4-0, on Sunday at the Central PA Tennis Center.
The Bison (11-6, 2-1 PL) completed their 2-0 Patriot League weekend with their whitewashing of the Raiders (9-7, 2-1 PL). Tyne Miller clinched Bucknell's victory over Colgate, which entered the match unbeaten in Patriot League play, with a three-set triumph at second singles.
Senior captain Daniela Bellini moved to 3-0 in Patriot League action with a decisive 6-0, 6-4 win over Addie Eklund on the top court. In her return to the Bison singles lineup, Whitney King was a 6-4, 6-4 victor over Jordan Ben-Shmuel in the third spot; she improved to an impressive 17-3 on her rookie campaign.
Miller topped Emme Levenson in dramatic fashion. After winning the first set, 6-1, she ceded the second, 6-2. She then pulled out a hard-fought 7-5 decision in the final set to propel Bucknell to its fifth home victory of the season.
Bellini and King moved to 19-3 at first doubles with a 6-2 decision over Eklund and Ben-Shmuel. The Bison's other two doubles teams also secured wins, helping them jump out to an early 1-0 lead.
This was Bucknell's fourth shutout of the season and first in Patriot League action. The Bison have now outscored their past two Patriot League opponents by a combined margin of 10-1.
Bucknell next returns to the road for Patriot League matches against Lafayette (April 9 at 10 a.m.) and Loyola (April 10 at 11 a.m.).
