- The Bison men's tennis squad has won four of its last five matches, including Patriot League victories over Colgate, Boston University, and Loyola, and now they continue conference play with a trip to Lafayette on Saturday.
- At 3-2 in Patriot League play, the Bison are in fourth place out of nine teams, trailing only Navy (5-0), Army (5-0), and Lehigh (4-1). The Patriot League Tournament will be held at Navy Apr. 28-May 1.
- The Bison are coming off a 6-1 triumph at Loyola last Sunday. Bucknell claimed the doubles point and won five of the six singles matches, all in straight sets.
- Tim Zelikovsky puts his 12-match singles winning streak on the line on Saturday. After his win at Loyola, Zelikovsky is 13-4 in dual matches, including a 9-1 mark at No. 4 singles and a 4-0 record against Patriot League opponents. His 19-7 overall record, including the fall tournament slate, is also the best on the squad.
- Harrison Gold has made an impact in his first season with the Bison, playing both No. 1 singles and doubles. He has won three of his four Patriot League matches in singles, and this spring he is 12-4 at first doubles, teaming with Zelikovsky (5-3), Charlie Nordahl (4-1), and Nick Mueller (3-0).
- Michael Owen's 11 dual-match victories are second-most on the team behind Zelikovsky. Mueller and Gold are next with seven each.
- The Leopards will be looking to shake a four-match losing streak with the Bison come to Easton on Saturday. Lafayette is 3-14 in duals this season, with the wins coming against Rider back in the fall and Coppin State and Wilkes this spring.
- Lafayette played three matches at home last weekend, losing to Fordham (4-1) on Saturday, and then Navy (4-0) and Colgate (4-1) on Sunday.
- Josh Wolfe picked up Lafayette's points with singles victories against Fordham and Colgate.
- This will be the first meeting between the Bison and Leopards since Apr. 9, 2019, as scheduled matches in each of the last two seasons were canceled due to COVID-19. Bucknell won that 2019 contest by a 4-1 count at the Northwood Racquet Club.
- Bucknell has beaten Lafayette 23 consecutive times in dual matches. The Leopards' last series win came in the 1994 Patriot League Tournament at Colgate.
- Bucknell wraps up the regular season on Apr. 23 against Lehigh at the Varsity Tennis Courts. That will be the final test before the Patriot League Tournament and could have significant seeding implications.
