Forker Voted to PL Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-League Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Karly Forker has been named to the 2022 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Academic All-League Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
It's Forker's first time making an Academic All-League team and the 10th time in the last 11 years that the Bison have had an athlete honored in the indoor season. Forker was one of just 11 Patriot League women's track & field athletes to earn the recognition.
Forker, a senior from Landing, N.J., put together a strong indoor season highlighted by several personal bests, five top finishes at meets, and a Bucknell top 10 time in the mile. She opened her senior campaign with a win and a personal record in the 3000 (10:05.97) as well as a first-place finish at the Bison Opener on the heels of an outstanding cross country season.
Forker went on to collect wins in her next three races, including the distance medley relay and 4x800 at the Nittany Lion Challenge and the 1000 at the Gulden Invitational. On Jan. 29, Forker ran the ninth-fasted mile time in program history (4:56.63) at the Sykes & Sabock Invitational at Penn State. She also posted a personal best in the 500 with a 1:17.1 at the Bucknell Tune-Up meet, earning second place.
At the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships, Forker ran another impressive mile time with a 4:57.64 to take sixth in the prelims. She also helped the Bison score fifth-place points in the 4x800 (9:11.14) at the league championships.
Forker maintains and outstanding 3.95 cumulative grade-point average as a cell biology and biochemistry major. She's also a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Army sophomore Georgia Jones was voted the Patriot League Women's Indoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
To be eligible for the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Patriot League awards, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen are not eligible for this honor.
