Women's Tennis Falls at Penn State

First Year Anna Lajos wins singles match
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Anna Lajos won her singles match, but the Bucknell women's tennis team fell at Penn State, 6-1, on Sunday evening at the Sarni Tennis Center.
Lajos moved to 15-1 on the season with her comeback victory over Danielle Alamo. After dropping the first set, 6-3, she took the next two by 6-1 and 10-7 margins to continue the strong start to her collegiate career.
The Nittany Lions (5-6, 0-1 Big Ten) won the other five singles matches and secured the doubles point to down the Bison (8-3, 0-0 PL), who had two singles players retire.
All-Big Ten Performer Gabby O'Gorman and her doubles partner Olivia Ryan handed Daniela Bellini and Whitney King only their third loss of the season; the Bucknell duo is now 17-3.
Bison head coach Tammy Cecchini is a Penn State alumna. As a Nittany Lion, she played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for three seasons. The two-year team captain was also named the 1991 Atlantic 10 Freshman of the Year.
Bucknell next travels to Hawaii for its spring break trip. The Bison will play Chaminade (March 14 at 1 p.m. HST) and Hawaii twice (March 16 & 17 at 11 a.m. HST).Â
