
Men’s Tennis Beaten by D2 Power Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn, the 12th-ranked team in Division II men's tennis, improved to 9-0 on the season after securing a 4-0 verdict over Bucknell on Wednesday afternoon at the Perper Tennis Complex. Michael Owen and Nicolas Grunig picked up a victory at No. 3 doubles, but the Knights captured the doubles point and the first three singles matches to claim the decision.
 
Owen and Grunig were 6-4 winners over Ryan Neale and Nicolas Cabrerra to even the doubles at a match apiece. Lynn earned the point when Diego Gonzalez and Lucca Baptista edged Harrison Gold and Charlie Nordahl 7-5 at No. 1.
 
Gold led Gonzalez 4-3 in the first set at No. 1 singles but had to retire due to injury, and then Gabrielle Felline and Rayane Alami won on Courts 5 and 6 to clinch the match for Lynn.
 
Owen was in a first-set tiebreaker with 38th-ranked Lucca Baptista at No. 3 singles when the match ended.
 
Bucknell has one more contest remaining on its Spring Break trip to Florida. The Bison will visit St. Thomas on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Miami Gardens.
