About the Bison

Bucknell returns to tournament action for the first time since Feb. 7-8 when it heads to the Las Vegas area for South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational.
Bucknell made its spring 2022 debut at the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic, hosted by Lipscomb in Panama City, Fla. It was a tough start for the Bison, who were greeted by brutal weather conditions after not having much outdoor course time leading up. Bucknell shot 349-354-334 and finished in 15th place.
Tara Thomas shot 83-84-81 at Bay Point to lead Bucknell.
Including the fall season, Thomas and Cristina Canales share the low scoring average on the team at 79.0.
Bucknell competed in five fall tournaments, with a top finish of fifth place at the Bucknell Invitational. The Bison also participated in events hosted by Penn State, Youngstown State, Navy, and Delaware.
The Bison posted season-best team scores of 315-310-311 at the Bucknell Invitational. Thomas was the team's top finisher. In just her second career start, Thomas shot 74-75-75 and placed T-7th.
The Bison will send out Thomas, Canales, Sahana Paravantavida, Sun Woo Jeon, and Tatum McKelvey this week. Kayla Yi will play as an individual.

The Jackrabbit Invitational

This will be Bucknell's second appearance at South Dakota State's spring tournament. In March 2011, the Bison finished ninth out of 14 teams with rounds of 312-305-312.
Katie Jurenovich posted 230 (77-75-78) and was Bucknell's low finisher in T-21st place.
South Dakota State is the defending champion. The Jackrabbits compiled a 3-over-par 897 to top a nine-team field last March. Second-place Gonzaga finished 21 strokes behind.
