LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore Meghan Quinn won the gold in the 60m dash at the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, making it three straight first-place finishes for the Bison in the event, and Bucknell as a team placed fourth overall with 73 points. Navy (202) won the meet at Gerhard Fieldhouse, while Army took second (171) and Boston U. earned third (140.5).
"Based on the seedings we were projected to finish fourth, and that's exactly where we finished. It was a war of attrition, as we had some events have a rough day, and others stepped up big," said head coach Kevin Donner. "The vast majority of our points came from underclassmen, which is a great sign for the future. We had a lot of people qualify for the ECAC Championships, which is a great meet to help get us to the next level as well as the outdoor season."
Quinn carried on Bucknell's winning tradition in the 60, as school-record holder Kaitlin Salisbury won the event in both the 2018 and 2019 indoor championships. Quinn ran a 7.64 in the finals after racing to the second-fastest time in school history (7.63) in the prelims on Saturday.

The sophomore wasn't finished, however, as she earned Bucknell more points in the 200 and the 4x400 later in the day. Quinn's personal-best 25.20 in the 200 earned her a fifth-place finish and ranks seventh on Bucknell's top 10 list. She also ran the third leg of the 4x400 relay team (Jessie Castellano, Mikayla Horvath, Quinn, Bridget Lalonde) that scored six points in a third-place finish. It was a tight final race, as the Bison were just 1.1 seconds behind second-place Navy.
Karen Hull was Bucknell's other top three finisher, earning third in the 60m hurdles with an 8.74. She beat her previous best time by .01 and sits second on Bucknell's top 10 list. Along with her efforts in the 4x400, Jessie Castellano grabbed four points for Bucknell in the 400, running a 57.44 to finish one-tenth of a second behind Army's Emma Taylor.
Another Bison moving up on the school's top 10 list on Sunday was Siobhan O'Sullivan, who capped a strong indoor season with a fifth-place finish in the shot put. The sophomore's 46-10.75 ranks fifth all-time, and she threw nearly a foot better than her previous best of 45-11.25.
Bucknell posted another strong day for jumps, as Gianna Macones, Michaela Bracken and Abby Kates all garnered points for the Orange & Blue. Bracken, who tied the school high jump record (5-8) while breaking the pentathlon school record (3,750) on Saturday, scored again in the open high jump with a 5-5 on Sunday. She tied teammate Abby Kates as the pair split the six points.
Macones scored eighth-place points in the triple jump, clearing 38-0 after taking fourth in the long jump on Saturday.
Bucknell's distance medley relay team (Tara Lyons, Anna Posh, Mackenzie Turner, Abigail Paczewski) scored as well, earning fifth with a 12:11.34.
Bucknell returns next weekend to compete at the ECAC Championships in Boston, Mass. Events begin on Friday, March 4 and will run through Sunday.
