LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's track & field's Karly Renn has been named Patriot League Indoor Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Renn posted the second-best pole vault mark in school history on Friday at the Bucknell Tune Up meet.
Renn is the second Bucknell track & field rookie to earn the award in as many weeks. Her 12-3.5 mark ties Angie Hall for number two on the all-time top 10 list, and the height hadn't been cleared by a Bison since 2005. Renn was previously tied for ninth on the top 10 list with her 11-9.75 that she posted at the Gulden Invitational.
Bucknell also had three athletes earn honorable mentions for Patriot League weekly awards on Tuesday. Anna Posh, who was named Rookie of the Week last Tuesday, was an honorable mention for Women's Track Athlete of the Week following her win in the 500 (1:16.81), Gianna Macones received an honorable mention for Women's Field Athlete of the Week after winning the long jump (18-09.25), and Anthony Zamarra received an honorable mention for Men's Field Athlete of the Week with a win in the shot put (54-08.00).
Up next, Bucknell hosts the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Gerhard Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 26 and Sunday, Feb. 27.
