LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Anna Posh has been named the Patriot League Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Posh earned the award for the first time in her young career after placing second in the 800 at the VMI Winter Classic over the weekend.
Posh, a native of Morgantown, Pa., ran a 2:17.98 in the 800 to take the runner-up position among 47 finishers. The only athlete to place ahead of her was senior teammate Karly Forker. Posh's time was a personal best, and she's improved in the event every week after posting a 2:22.65 at the Bison Opener to begin the indoor season.
Posh also took part in Bucknell's 4000m distance medley relay team that placed second (12:48.14) at the VMI meet, finishing only behind Bucknell's A team.
Bucknell's Ashlyn Ramos was also an honorable mention for Patriot League Women's Track Athlete of the Week. The senior broke the Bucknell school record in the 5000 at the David Hemery Valentine Invite, finishing the event in 16:39.00.
Bucknell is back home this weekend to host its final meet before the Patriot League Championships. The Bison host the Bucknell Tune Up on Friday, Feb. 18.
