Bucknell's Davis Earns Second-Straight PL Rookie of Week Nod

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bucknell's Connor Davis earned his second-straight Patriot League GEICO Rookie of the Week nod, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Davis was recognized for his five-point performance during the Bison men's lacrosse team's 14-12 victory at Robert Morris on Feb. 12. The freshman attackman posted four goals and an assist, bringing his season point total to 11 (10g-1a).
As of games played through Sunday, Feb. 13, Davis is tied for fourth in the NCAA Division I ranks in goals per game (5.00); he is one of only two freshmen in the top 10, joining Marquette's Bobby O'Grady (t-10th, 4.00).
Last week, Davis was honored as the Patriot League Offensive Player, Patriot League Rookie and Bison Athlete of the Week for matching Bucknell's single-game freshman record with six goals at Mercer. In addition, he set a new standard for goals by a Bison in his collegiate debut and finished one shy of the school record for goals in a season opener behind Tommy Sopko's seven-strike outing against Cleveland State in 2021.
Davis becomes the 14th student-athlete to earn consecutive Rookie of the Week awards. Of the overall group, Charlie Streep (2009) is the only other Bison; with five total, he also holds the Patriot League record for most Rookie of the Week nods in a campaign.
The last Bison to earn multiple Rookie of the Week laurels in a single season was goalie Christian Klipstein; he was honored on March 21 and April 4 in 2016.
Davis and the Bison next host St. John's for their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12:30 p.m.
