LEWISBURG, Pa. – Peter Bradbeer, a 2020 Bucknell graduate and a former standout player for the Bison golf team, captured his first professional tournament win last week. Bradbeer is playing on the Minor League Golf Tour, and his victory came at the Citrus Golf Trail Open at Sun 'N Lake Golf Club in Sebring, Fla.
Bradbeer shot 69-69-68 for a 10-under-par total of 206. The key hole in the final round was the drivable par-4 10th. Tied for the lead at the time with Christian Chapman, Bradbeer hit his tee shot to six feet on the 320-yard hole and drained the eagle putt to take a two-shot lead. Michael Kartrude made a late charge to pull within one with Bradbeer in the clubhouse, but Kartrude could not find another birdie on the final two holes.
Bradbeer earned a $20,000 first-place check along with the orange champion's jacket. The $20K first-place prize was the largest in MLGT history. He made 15 birdies and the eagle in the 54-hole tournament, which started with a field of 46 players.
After graduating from Bucknell, Bradbeer used his fifth year of college eligibility at Temple, and then he turned professional in September of 2021. He had five runner-up finishes and 11 top-10s on the MLGT before breaking through with his first victory.
Bradbeer earned All-Patriot League honors as a sophomore with a T-6th finish at the Patriot League Championship. He had a low round of 66 at the 2018 Cornell Invitational, and his career scoring average of 74.82 is the third-best in program history.
