
Swim & Dive Teams Go 2-1 at Bucknell Quad Meet

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams hosted a quad meet at Kinney Natatorium on Saturday, and both the men and the women went 2-1 against the field to each improve to 5-1 (4-1 PL).
Both the Bison men and women defeated American (240.5-45.5 men, 224-74 women) and Lafayette (234.5-63.5 men, 252-48 women). Both teams also took their first losses of the season to Navy (110-189 men, 97.5-202.5 women).
Sabrina Vumbacco collected two individual wins (500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle) for the women and was part of Bucknell's winning 200 medley relay, along with Esme Hunter, Alexandra Ritorto and Kayla Lichtner.
Hunter was also a runner-up in two events (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke), and Abby Doss placed second in two events as well (200 breaststroke, 200 IM).
For the men, Alex Crossing (1000 freestyle), Chris Fabian (100 backstroke), John Gehrig (200 butterfly) and Leo Kuyl (50 freestyle) all won their individual events. Crossing's 1000 freestyle time (9:28.14) placed him on the program's top-10 list at sixth.
Fabian and Kuyl, along with Justin Disanto and Chris Kopac, also picked up a win in the 200 freestyle relay. The men's 200 medley relay, which placed second, missed out on a top-10 time by .03 seconds (1:30.82).
Up next, the Bison host the three-day Bucknell Invitational at Kinney Natatorium during the weekend of Nov. 18.
