About Bucknell
- The Bison are gearing up for their final two home matches this weekend, which are pivotal contests with the Patriot League tournament less than two weeks away. Bucknell will host sixth-place American on Friday and fourth-place Loyola on Saturday.
- Bucknell is currently fifth in the Patriot League standings. It sits one match ahead of the Eagles, Lafayette and Lehigh. Two of the three teams the Bison have left on their schedule are ahead of them in the standings.
- The Bison have lost three in a row, including matches at Holy Cross and Colgate last weekend. After opening the Patriot League schedule 4-2, Bucknell has struggled to a 1-6 record over the last seven matches.
- Junior Catherine Jamison leads the Bison and ranks fourth in the Patriot League with 3.31 kills per set. She also owns a .254 hitting percentage.
- Not far behind Jamison is freshman Bri Frazilus, who has earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week four times. She's sixth in the league with 3.27 kills per set after totaling 20 last weekend.
- Libero Jordan Hardy added 44 digs last weekend and remains fourth in the nation with 5.71 digs per set. She's up to 497 digs on the season, which ranks third all-time in the Bucknell record book. The sophomore has 880 digs in her career.
- Leading the Bison in blocks is junior Allie Lopez with 57. Her 0.85 blocks per set are good enough for ninth in the league.
- The Bison are celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, and the program will honor four graduating seniors prior to the match; Camryn Anderson, Sandra Korusiewicz, Sarina Singer and Lisa Zoch.
- Head coach Tyler Hagstrom is in his third season with the program. He's joined by second-year assistant Jeremy Young. Hagstrom is looking to guide the Bison back to the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2010.
- American is currently sixth in the Patriot League standings at 12-13 (4-8 PL). The Eagles have dropped each of their last five matches, including a pair of 3-0 losses to Loyola and Navy last weekend.
- Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year Zeynep Uzen leads the Eagles and is second in the league with .406 kills per set. Graduate student Carlie Fikse is fourth in the league in hitting percentage at .295.
- American head coach Barry Goldberg is in his 34th season with the program and has a career record of 809-309. He's a 10-time Patriot League Coach of the Year.
- Bucknell is 3-50 all-time against American, dating back 1989. The Bison have taken two out of the last four, including a 3-2 win back on Oct. 1.
- In the earlier meeting this season, Bucknell rallied from a 2-0 deficit and won the final three sets. The Bison won the fifth set 15-6. Lisa Zoch and Catherine Jamison each posted 14 kills, and Sandra Korusiewicz joined them in double figures with 11 kills. Valentina Feigl added five block assists.
- The Greyhounds are fourth in the league standings at 10-10 (8-5 PL). They picked up wins over American and Navy last weekend and have won five of their last six matches.
- Loyola leads the Patriot League in both kills (13.66/s) and assists (12.81/s). Leading the charge is junior Lauren Link, whose 4.41 kills per set rank first among Patriot League players.
- Graduate student Katie Forsythe, who is a four-time Patriot League Libero of the Year and holds the league record in career digs, ranks just behind Bucknell's Hardy in the category at 5.51 per set this season.
- Loyola is led by head coach Alija Pittenger, who is in her eighth season with the Greyhounds and has a 77-125 record with the team.
- Bucknell is 16-13 all-time against the Greyhounds, dating back to 1984.
- Loyola defeated the Bison 3-1 in Baltimore, Md. back on Sept. 30. After giving up the first two sets, Bucknell won the third and led late in the fourth before ultimately dropping the match. Bri Frazilus posted a double-double in the match with 17 kills and 11 digs, and four different Bison finished with double-digit digs.
Bucknell plays its final match of the regular season at Navy on Sunday, Nov. 13.
