Men’s Golf in Third Place After Opening Day of Nassau Invitational

GLEN COVE, N.Y. – Led by rounds of 73 and 72 from sophomore Michael Rudnick, the Bucknell men's golf team is in third place in a field of 10 teams after 36 holes at the Nassau Invitational, hosted by LIU at the Nassau Country Club.
Rudnick is alone in seventh place on the individual leaderboard at 5-over-par 145. Blake Wisdom is one shot back in T-8th after carding 70-76 on Monday. James Robbins shot 75-73, Josh Holtschlag posted 74-75, and Andres Barraza shot 76-78.
James Key, playing as an individual, also had a good day with rounds of 75-72 to sit in a tie for 14th place with another round left to come on Tuesday.
Bucknell tallied team scores of 292 and 296 for a 588 total, and the Bison will start the final round eight shots behind the leader St. John's. The Red Storm opened with a 299 but then followed with a 1-over 281 in the second round. Army is second at 582, two behind St. John's.
LIU (591), Robert Morris (593), Hofstra (595), La Salle (596), Le Moyne (602), Manhattan (610), and Merrimack (622) round out the field.
Bucknell will be paired with St. John's and LIU in Tuesday's final round, which gets underway at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
