LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's cross country team, led by a second-place finish from Grace Vives, competed in its final tune-up for the 2022 regular season on Friday on Bucknell's West Fields.

"Today was just a low-key tune-up," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "Some people we ran today will run the Patriot League Championships, and we just wanted to see where they were at due to some health concerns in previous weeks. Most of the people ran in their last cross country race of the season, and today gave them some great experience and we also wanted to see how the course was running since we host the Patriot League Championships next week. Many of our Patriot League athletes did a workout today and we were able to get on the course for a bit which should help for next week."
Vives (14:59.80) was Bucknell's highest finisher at the meet, and one of nine Bucknell runners overall in the field of 20. Competitors from Patriot League rival Lehigh and Mansfield also attended the meet.
Meredith Haberfield (4th, 15:23.90) and Eva Lindner (7th, 15:44.10) both earned top-ten finishes at the meet, which was not scored. Tori Chace, Anna Posh, Aidan Smith, Mariana Engleby, Sarah Haas, and Hailey Tabar also competed for the Bison.
Carly Daniels of Mansfield (14:36.50) won the meet, with Andrine Larsen of Lehigh, Haberfield, and Elisa Brear of the Mountain Hawks making up the top five runners.
The Bison will now look ahead to the Patriot League Championships next Saturday, October 29. The meet will be the first time the Bison have hosted the Patriot League Championships since winning the league title on its home course during the 2018 season.
