We were a bit disappointed with the fifth-place finish," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. Although we do have two All-League runners with Mia Bellucci and Keeley Misutka," "Both have been coming along very nicely over the past month. We did expect some of our others to be relatively close to them as other struggled a bit. Now we just have to be business-like, and get ready for the Mid-Atlantic Regional in 13 days."
Misutka (12th, 21:33.9) and Bellucci (13th, 21:34.2) each earned their first All-League honors in the process, crossing the line right next to one another. The Bison have now earned multiple All-League selections in seven of the past eight seasons.
Next up for the Bison was sophomore Lauren Trapani (28th, 22:09.1), who returned from a lengthy layoff to earn a top-30 finish for the second consecutive year, also improving by one place from the 2021 Cross Country Championships.
Abby Paczewski (32nd, 22:18.0) and Ally Clarke (33rd, 22:18.9) rounded out Bucknell's scoring runners on the day, with Clarke improving by six spots from her 39th-place showing in 2021. Caryn Rippey, competing in her first Patriot League Championship, was the final scoring runner for the Bison, finishing 35th overall (22:29.6).
Laura Sakol (39th, 22:36.6), Kate Amaddio (47th, 22:46.6), Hollie Walters (49th, 22:49.3), Lauren Joyce (63rd, 23:12.4), Asta Rustad (64th, 23:12.7), and Meghan Smith (67th, 23:27.9) all competed for the Bison on Saturday morning.
Bucknell (110) finished fifth overall in the team standings. Navy (38) won the meet, and was followed by Army (57), Boston University (70) and Lehigh (101) in the top five. Emily Boutin of Navy earned the individual title (20:36.8), and was followed by Daisy Liljegren of Boston University, Charlotte Richman of Army, Eve Feuerbach of Holy Cross, and 2021 champion Georgia Jones of Army in the top five.
The Bison will now turn their attention to the upcoming Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships at Penn State on Friday, November 11.
