LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's cross country team is set to participate in two meets on Friday, with head coach Kevin Donner sending student-athletes to the Penn State National Open and the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Fordham.
The women's 6K race at Penn State is set for a 10:45 a.m. start, followed by the men's 5.2K race at approximately 11:30 a.m. The course will be a preview of the upcoming Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by the Nittany Lions on November 11.
The ECAC/IC4A Championship is set to be held in the The Bronx at Van Cortlandt Park. The ECAC Championship 6K race for the women will be held at 11 a.m., followed by the IC4A men's 8K race at 11:45 a.m.
"We are splitting our teams on Friday, as our top eight men and top eight women will be racing at Penn State against a very competitive field," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "With the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on the course, I felt that we should race on it one month out so we can get a good feel for how it runs. It's also a very competitive field that our teams are very excited to race."
"The IC4A/ECAC Championships have moved to this weekend, and I am excited to see how our number nine and below handle the pressure of being in scoring positions for us. It's a championship meet experience, and one of the oldest meets in the country."

- Bucknell returns to competition for the first time since competing at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday, September 23. The Bison, including the two meets this weekend, have three more races before the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, October 29.
- The Bison finished 13th at that meet, which featured two ranked teams as well as Patriot League rival Boston University. First-year Caryn Rippey led the way for the Orange and Blue, which placed all five of its scoring runners in the top 100. Rippey finished 42nd overall, followed by Mia Bellucci (44th), Abby Paczewski (66th), Ally Clarke (74th), and Laura Sakol (91st).
- Rippey, Bellucci, Clarke, Paczewski, Sakol, Asta Rustad, and Keeley Misutka will all travel to Penn State on Friday in preparation for the Mid-Atlantic Regional.
- The Bison contingent set to travel to New York will include Madeline Barber, Tori Chace, Meredith Haberfield, Lauren Joyce, Eva Lindner, Margaret McLoughlin, Kera Reinhard, Lauren Shaffer, Aidan Smith, Meghan Smith, Lauren Trapani, Grace Vives, and Hollie Walters.
- The Bison competed at the Penn State National Open on October 18, 2019. Bucknell finished ninth at that meet, with no active Bison having participated. The last time the Bison competed at Penn State as a part of the Mid-Atlantic Regional was on November 9, 2018, where Bucknell finished an impressive eighth overall in the field of 30, led by an All-Region performance from standout Colleen Buckley, who placed 19th overall.
