LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's cross country team is set to participate in two meets on Friday, with head coach Kevin Donner sending student-athletes to the Penn State National Open and the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Fordham.
The women's 6K race at Penn State is set for a 10:45 a.m. start, followed by the men's 5.2K race at approximately 11:30 a.m. The course will be a preview of the upcoming Mid-Atlantic Regional hosted by the Nittany Lions on November 11.
"We are splitting our teams on Friday, as our top eight men and top eight women will be racing at Penn State against a very competitive field," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "With the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on the course, I felt that we should race on it one month out so we can get a good feel for how it runs. It's also a very competitive field that our teams are very excited to race."
"The IC4A/ECAC Championships have moved to this weekend, and I am excited to see how our number nine and below handle the pressure of being in scoring positions for us. It's a championship meet experience, and one of the oldest meets in the country."
The ECAC/IC4A Championship is set to be held in the The Bronx at Van Cortlandt Park. The ECAC Championship 6K race for the women will be held at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 11:45 a.m.
