Bucknell Men's Soccer Announces Incoming Class

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell men's soccer head coach Brendan Nash has announced the signing of 10 student-athletes to the class of 2025. The group hails from four different states, and also represents Sweden and New Zealand internationally.

Bucknell finished the abbreviated spring season at 1-4-1, earning a win against NCAA Tournament participant American, and three of its four defeats came by a one-goal margin.

5-8, 140 lbs, Garden City, N.Y./Garden City

Before Bucknell: Four-year letterwinner at Garden City High school under Head Coach Paul Cutter…also played tennis…was named team captain and All-County…nominated for All-State squad…Helped team to an undefeated season in 2021 at 13-0-1 and co-champions of Nassau County…Nassau County finalists in 2018 and 2019…in 2017, helped team to Nassau County Championships, Long Island Championships, and a state semifinal berth…also helped ODP squad to a regional tournament championship…helped club team earn a spot in the national finals in 2019…scored 10 goals and added six assists as a senior in just 14 games in high school…totaled 22 goals and 18 assists at Garden City.

Andrew Mazza
5-7, 150, Manasquan, N.J./Northwood School (N.Y.)

Before Bucknell: Played two years of varsity soccer at the Northwood School under Head Coach Jon Moodey…was named 2020-21 Boys Soccer Player of the Year for Black Rock FC Residential Academy at the Northwood School…Played primarily as a holding midfielder…school was ranked number two in the country by Top Drawer Soccer…managed nine assists in 2020-21…Team won IMG Cup Championship in December 19…team went unbeaten in fall of 2020…team played at Dallas Cup in 2021, defeating No. 1 Solar FC 4-1.

5-9, 160, Randolph, N.J./Delbarton School

Before Bucknell: Lettered in wrestling and soccer at Delbarton High School…team captain, second team All-State, and First Team All-League and All-County selection…helped Delbarton to a county, league, and state sectional championship…broke school scoring record for goals scored while playing as a defender, and also helped team set shutout record defensively as a junior…played club for PDA Academy and for Slovan Bratislava…which finished first in the Slovakian league U19.

Before Bucknell: Captained New Albany HS to first-ever Division One Regional Final with an appearance in the state championship game in 2020...named to All-Conference squad in 2019 and 2020…team went 18-4-1, appeared in state final for first time in school history…played most minutes on the team…played as a right back and a center back while scoring six goals and adding five assists…had winning goal in state semifinal game…played club for Club Ohio from 2018-21, leading team to Ohio South State Cup Championship in 2019.

Before Bucknell: Lettered all four years at Mount de Sales Academy under Head Coach Robert Ochieng…also lettered a year in cross country…team qualified for state playoffs in three of his four seasons at the school…managed 59 assists, the second most in school history, and added 34 goals overall…three-time All-Region selection…played club for AFC Lightning in the NPL…played for Inter Atlanta FC in the National League…ODP Region three pool selection…received invitation to four US Youth National Team training center sessions.

Before Bucknell: Lettered in tennis at Howell High School in Howell, N.J./team captain of the Philadelphia Union '03 Academy squad…also team captain of Cedar Stars Monmouth in MLS Next…has competed in U.S. Soccer Training centers…has also competed abroad in Qatar and Spain…was leading goal scorer for the Union for three consecutive years.

Personal: Jack Ryan Roberto…Born on January 9, 2003 in Red Bank, N.J…has two siblings, Luke and Madelyn…Father Stephen Roberto played soccer at Kean University from 1993-1995, and was the captain of the 1995 team….member of National Honors Society and Spanish Honors Society at Howell High School. Before Bucknell: Lettered in soccer and Track & Field at the Delbarton School…attended ID2 camp, and invited to five US Soccer Market Training Sessions…Attended Republic of Ireland National Team Camps from U15-U17…Included in Top Drawer Soccer's National Top 150 list…helped team to Conference Championship in 2018 and Top Five National Ranking…helped team to State Championship in 2020… Team finished a combined 34-2-1 from 2018-2020…played club for Cedar Stars Academy…team won five straight NJ State Championships and one regional title.

Personal: Gabriel Walter Christopher Dahlin…born on August, 18, 2003 in Gothenburg, Sweden…moved to the United States in 2017…has three siblings, Robin, Rebecca, and Matteus…when he was 11, beat a player from BK Hacken in Sweden in a soccer juggling competition.
