The Bucknell men's soccer team continues a four-match home stand against Holy Cross on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Emmitt Field.

After two conference losses to American and Boston University, the Bison bounced back with a 1-0 win over Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday. The Crusaders are coming off of a thrilling 3-3 draw against Lehigh where the Mountain Hawks scored twice in the second half to overcome a 3-1 deficit.

Bucknell sits in sixth in the Patriot League table and tied on four points with Loyola (Md.). Boston U. leads the league with 12 points followed by Lehigh with 10 points. American has seven points, and Colgate and Lafayette have five points.

Holy Cross is just behind the Bison with three points in eighth place, followed by Navy with one point and Army with zero points.

The Patriot League has struggled to get results in non-conference action as all teams have combined for a 11-36-22 record out of conference. Bucknell and Navy are the only teams with multiple non-conference wins, and the Bison are ethe only program with three non-conference wins. Â

Last Time Out for the Bison
- Bucknell collected its third non-conference win over Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday night at Emmitt Field. The Bison have won each of their last three non-conference matches after beginning the season 0-4 in non-conference play.
- Drew Roskos notched his second goal of the season in the 21st minute of action, and the Bison dominated possession to see out a 1-0 victory.
- Bucknell held roughly 74 percent of possession, and the Bison shut down any counter attacking opportunities. The Mount registered just four shots in the match, and Thomas Yerbury did not see a shot on target the entire match. Yerbury earned his third clean shut of the season.
- Bucknell took 15 shots with three on target. Mount St. Mary's were shown four yellow cards in the match and one red cad in the final moments.
- Bucknell played a fierce non-conference schedule early in the season that featured three opponents who have been in and out of the rankings. The Bison fell to Pitt 3-1 in a competitive match, and Pitt currently ranks 10th in the nation with a 6-2-2 record.
- The Bison also faced Hofstra, who ranked 20th when they played the Bison. Old dominion was also ranked briefly after they beat the Bison 3-0, and the Bison will take on Cornell later this season, who currently ranks 22nd. Â
- Bucknell is looking healthy again after missing key players through the first three matches. Lucas, Roskos and Bejarano played their first action of the season against ODU after all three of them missed the first three matches. Jakub Samelko also returned to the squad against Fordham. Roskos, Lucas and Samelko combined for 16 goals and four assists in 2025.
- The Bison have struggled to produce goals, scoring nine times in 11 matches. Opponents have shut out the Bison in five matches.
- After leading the league in 2025 in shots and shots on target, Bucknell ranks fifth in total shots and sixth in shots on goal. Â Â
- Bucknell's leading scorer from 2025, Drew Roskos, has two goals since his return to action. His goal against Mount St. Mary's was the match-winner in the game. Roskos leads the team with five points on two goals and one assist.
- Lucas, Hamish Riddell and Viktor Permyashkin all have three points on one goal and one assist.
- Mason Lillis, Chase Snyder and Cade Whitmire all have one goal for the Bison. Colin Findlay and Noah Handzel lead the team with two assists each.
- Junior forward Drew Roskos is the reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, and he was voted as the 2026 Patriot League Preseason Forward of the Year. Senior Jack Lucas was voted as the Patriot League Preseason Defender of the Year.
- Colin Findlay and Viktor Permyashkin are both from central Pennsylvania. Permyashkin is a Lewisburg native, and becomes the first Lewisburg graduate to play for Bucknell. Findlay is from Selinsgrove, just 20 minutes south of Lewisburg. Findlay's mother, Chrissy, is a former Bucknell women's soccer coach, and his father, Jim, served as the head coach at Susquehanna University for 28 years. Chayse Snyder is from Mechanicsburg, just 90 minutes from Lewisburg.
- Bucknell has 19 returning players on the 2025 squad. Bucknell's freshman class includes six players: Hamish Riddell, Max Walsh, Marcelo Ojeda, Viktor Permyashkin, Chayse Snyder and Grant Brokaw. The Bison also brought in junior transfers, Colin Findlay and Jack Bejarano.
- Dave Brandt is Bucknell's 14th full-time head coach and just the third dating back to 1967. Brandt, who is now in his fifth season at Bucknell, has a remarkable career record of 377-123-56 in stints at Bucknell, Messiah, Navy, and Hope. Brandt won six Division III national championships at Messiah and led Navy to the 2013 Patriot League title and an NCAA Tournament first-round win. Â
- Bucknell got off to a hot start in 2025, but struggled to get results in conference play down the final stretch of the season. The Bison ultimately fell to Boston U. on the road 3-1 in the first round of the Patriot League tournament.
- Bucknell had a knack for comebacks last season as the Bison went 4-3-1 in matches they had trailed in during the regular season.
- The Bison also scored in the final 16 minutes in eight of its 18 matches, and they scored a goal in the final five minutes in five matches.
- Bucknell senior class in 2025 combined for eight goals and seven assists last season.
- The Bison ranked third in the Patriot League with 29 goals for and ranked second with 1.611 goals per game.
- The Bison also led the league with 232 shots and 6.33 shots on target per game.

- Holy Cross is 1-4-6 this season with an 0-1-3 record in conference play. The Crusaders went the first eight matches without a win before defeating Stonehill 3-2 on Sep. 23.
- The Crusaders tied Navy, Lafayette and Lehigh in the Patriot League, and fell to Loyola (Md.) 4-2.
- Holy Cross has played in several high-scoring matches, and they rank second in the league in goals scored (14) and lead the league in goals allowed (23).
- The Crusaders create plenty of goal scoring opportunities, leading the league with 153 shots and 66 shots on target. They average 6.00 shots on target per game which ranks 49th in the nation.
- Archie Hatcher is as dangerous as they come on the attack, and the sophomore leads the league in goals (6), points (14) and shots per game (5.20). His 5.20 shots per game leads the nation. The next closest player in the PL averages 3.11 shots per game. Hatcher also has 25 shots on target, nine more than the next closest player.
- Jack Fiedler is second on the team with six points on two goals and two assists. Jude Jakes-McKay has a goal and two assists, and Jeb Snead has two goals.
- Peter Borges, James Ferraro and Gabe Raphael all have scored one goal.
- Caleb Klepacz has played nine games in goal with 25 saves and a .581 save percentage.
- Holy Cross's 21 offsides are the most in the Patriot League, and Bucknell's 11 offsides are the least in the league.
- Holy Cross's 28 yellow cards are the most in the league, and Bucknell's 11 yellow cards are the least in the league. Both sides have one red card this season.
- Holy Cross ranks second in the league with 50 corner kicks, and Bucknell ranks last with 35 corner kicks.
