Bison Varsity Eight Victorious at George Cup

FAIRFAX, Va. -- The Bucknell Varsity Eight remained unbeaten this spring with a victory over George Washington and George Mason on Sunday at the George Cup on the Occoquan Reservoir.

The Bison covered the 2,000-meter course in 6:42.8, well ahead of the Colonials (6:49.8) and Patriots (7:08.9). Juliette Gaggini was once again the Bucknell coxswain, directing Natalie Kreusch, Erin Sullivan, Casey Miller, Caroline Brandt, Maddie Wickers, Olivia Zavrel, Elizabeth Berlinger and Caitlin Cobb. That unit is now 4-0 on the season.

Sunday's win for the V8+ came one day after three other Bison crews were victorious in a home dual against Fordham. Bucknell will compete at home again next Saturday at 4 p.m., with Senior Day ceremonies preceding the meet against Ithaca.
