Blake Wisdom Named Patriot League Golfer of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the second week in a row, a member of the Bucknell men's golf team's sophomore class has been selected as the Patriot League Golfer of the Week. This time it is Lake Geneva, Wis., native Blake Wisdom, who fired an even-par 70 on Saturday to finish in third place among 76 competitors at the Rolling Green Intercollegiate.
Wisdom's 70 – his low round of the spring -- helped lead the Bison to a 287 team total and a T-2nd finish in a field of 12 teams. Bucknell and Monmouth both posted 287 and finished two strokes behind Rhode Island for the title. The Bison bested four other Patriot League teams in the field: Lafayette, Navy, Lehigh and Colgate.
Bucknell is off to a strong start this spring, with a victory at the Battle at Rum Pointe sandwiched between two runner-up finishes.
Wisdom lowered his season scoring average to 74.8 with his second straight top-10 finish. He was T-9th at Rum Pointe the previous week to help his team to the title. Jackson Bussell was medalist in that event on his way to Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors.
Next up for Bucknell is the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova Apr. 12-13 at Radnor Valley CC.
