About the Bison
• Bucknell returns to Graham Field on Sunday looking to add to its win column for the first time this season. The Bison will face American for a second time in three weeks. It's the first time the Bison have faced the same Patriot League opponent more than once during a regular season.
• Bucknell is the only Patriot League team with three games under its belt already, while the top three teams in league standings are 2-0. The Bison are one of three teams still in search of a win.
• Last time out, Bucknell fell 4-0 at Lehigh after failing to score in a second consecutive game. The shots were even at 18-apiece, but the Mountain Hawks took advantage of a penalty stroke and two penalty corners to snap an eight-game losing skid to the Bison.
• Kaelyn Long led the Bison with seven shots last Sunday, including three that were on target, and the senior now leads the team in the category despite playing in just two of three games. Second in shots on the roster are Leah Fogelsanger (4) and Rachel Apa (4).
• Scoring Bucknell's lone goal this season back in week one was rookie Kari Melberger, and supplying the assist was sophomore Mackenzie Kile.
• Junior defender Erin Zielinski is the only Bison to play all 180 minutes this season.
• Bucknell split time between its goalkeepers on Sunday for a second time this season. Junior Peyton Fischer has played 120 minutes in the cage to sophomore Clara McCormick's 60. Fischer, who owns a 3.50 goals against average this season, has made 10 saves, while McCormick (3.00 GAA) made two of her three season saves in the second half against Lehigh.
About the Eagles
• American's only game played this spring was against Bucknell two weeks ago. The Eagles scored four goals on 14 shots while limiting the Bison to two shots in the contest. Four different players scored for American in the game, with senior Preseason Player of the Year Noor Coenen registering four points on one goal and two assists.
• American was voted the preseason favorite after winning the league championship in 2019. Coenen was joined on the Preseason All-League Team by junior defender Georgia Davies.
• The Eagles are led by head coach Steve Jennings, who's guided the team to 11 Patriot League titles in 21 years.
Series History with the Eagles
• American holds a 27-7 edge in the all-time series with the Bison, dating back to 1990, and has won each of the last four. Bucknell's last win over the Eagles was a 2-1 shootout victory during the 2017 Patriot League semifinals in Boston, Mass.
• Bucknell is 5-8 in home games against the Eagles, last hosting in 2018 when they fell 1-0 in overtime.
• Bucknell lost 3-1 on the road last season as Emily Doyle scored the team's only goal. Grave McEvoy and Olivia Bush attempted Bucknell's two shots in the matchup earlier this season.
