Bison Recognize Class of 2021
• Before their dual meet with Lehigh, the Bison will recognize their 15 members of the class of 2021.
• The women's team's seniors are Kelly Cattano, Palma Foschi-Walko, Emily Gorham, Rachel Hazard, Megan Koczur, Amanda Lauer, Maura McManus, Alaina Schumann and Maggie Wyngowski.
• The men's team's seniors are Kevin Flynn, Mitch Gavars, Jacob Lubinski, Matt Rakovec, Nate Romanowski and Garrett Sommer.
• Wyngowski is a three-time All-Patriot League First Team honoree and was voted as the Rookie of the 2018 Patriot League Championships.
• In 2020, Gorham made the All-Patriot League Second Team while Sommer was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
• The women's seniors have combined for 232 points at the Patriot League Championships. The men's seniors have combined for 203.5 points.
Bucknell Women at a Glance
• The Bison moved to 1-0 (1-0 PL) on the season with their 158-139 victory over Army West Point on March 20. They won nine individual events, with Kate Gottwald, Sabrina Vumbacco and Maggie Wyngowski winning two apiece.
• Bucknell wrapped up its 2019-20 dual meet schedule with a sterling 10-1 (7-1 PL) record. With their rivalry win over Lehigh, the Bison reached the double digits in victories during a single season for the sixth time in program history. They previously accomplished the feat in 1980-81 (11-2), 1984-85 (10-4), 1993-94 (10-1), 1994-95 (10-1) and 1997-1998 (11-2).
• Over the previous two seasons, Bucknell posted a combined dual meet record of 18-2 (13-2 PL); both of the team's losses came to reigning Patriot League champion Navy.
• The Bison placed second at the 2020 Patriot League Championships with 533 points. The Bison, who finished as the Patriot League runners-up for the 12th time in program history and the first time since 2015, were bolstered by eight-medal winning performances, including a golden showing by Wyngowski in the 400 IM behind an NCAA 'B' cut time.
• Seven Bison were honored on the 2020 All-Patriot League Team: Wyngowski (1st), Maddie Hartigan (1st), Catherine Craig (2nd), Emily Gorham (2nd), Emma Hadley (2nd), Abby Merriman (2nd) and Vumbacco (2nd). Vumbacco was also named the Rookie of the Patriot League Championship meet.
• Bucknell's total of All-Patriot League selections was its highest since 2015, when nine Bison made the All-Patriot League squad.
• Of Bucknell's 2020 All-Patriot League honorees, Hadley and Merriman were lost to graduation.
• Hartigan and Wyngowski are the team's returning school record holders. Hartigan owns the standards in the 200 freestyle (1:48.22) and the 500 freestyle (4:46.48) while Wyngowski is listed first in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.54), the 200 IM (2:00.15) and the 400 IM (4:15.26).
• Gorham (200 freestyle), Hartigan (800 freestyle) and Wyngowski (200 medley) swam on relay teams that set school records.
Bucknell Men at a Glance
• Bucknell dropped to 0-1 (0-1 PL) on the season with its 184-100 loss at Army West Point on March 20. Freshman Noah Basista accounted for two of the team's three individual victories; he was coming off of winning two races and swimming on two first-place relay teams at Colgate on March 6.
• The Bison placed fourth at the 2020 Patriot League Championships with 342.5 points. A highlight of the meet for the Bison was a bronze-medal performance by the 400 freestyle relay team of Matt McGoey, Matt Mills, Jack Rose and Leo Kuyl.
• Bucknell wrapped up its 2019-20 dual meet season with a 5-6 (4-4 PL) record.
• The Bison's 5-2 start was its best since the 2013-14 campaign. That season, they went 5-1 (4-0 PL) in their first six duals en route to a 7-3 (5-1 PL) record.
• Bucknell returned 2020 Academic All-Patriot League pick Garrett Sommer, a diver who has scored 68 career points at the Patriot League Championships.
• Returnees Kuyl (400 freestyle), Jacob Lubinski (400 medley), Mills (400 freestyle) and Rose (200 medley, 400 freestyle) swam on relay teams that set school records.
• The Bison lost McGoey to graduation. A two-time All-Patriot League pick, he won one Patriot League medal and set the school record in the 200 IM (1:47.84).
Lehigh Women at a Glance
• Lehigh is currently 1-0 (0-0 PL) on the season with its victory coming over Rider, 84-38, in a "virtual" meet.
• In 2019-20, the Mountain Hawks posted a 6-1 (3-1 PL) record in dual meets. They went on to place third at the Patriot League Championships with 504 points.
• Bucknell leads the all-time series with Lehigh, 31-10, and has won 12 of the past 13 meetings. The Mountain Hawks snapped a nine-meet losing streak to the Bison with their 166.5-133.5 victory at Kinney Natatorium on Jan. 21, 2017.
• On Jan. 25, 2020, Bucknell completed a sterling 10-1 dual meet season with a 166-132 victory over Lehigh. The Bison handed the Mountain Hawks their only loss of the 2019-20 campaign behind 10 individual event victories. Six Bison accounted for those wins, with Emma Hadley (100 & 200 backstroke), Catherine Craig (100 & 200 breaststroke), Alexis Faria (100 & 200 butterfly) and Abby Merriman (500 & 1,000 freestyle) securing sweeps in their respective disciplines.
Lehigh Men at a Glance
• Lehigh is currently 0-0 (0-0 PL) on the season; its virtual meet against Rider was unscored.
• In 2019-20, the Mountain Hawks went 6-1 (4-0 PL) in dual meet action. They went on to place sixth at the Patriot League Championships with 312.5 points.
• Bucknell leads the all-time series with Lehigh, 37-21. The Mountain Hawks snapped a six-meet losing skid to the Bison with their 155-133 victory in Bethlehem, Pa. on Jan. 20, 2018.
• Lehigh again got the better of Bucknell during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring a tight 149-145 victory at Kinney Natatorium. The rivalry dual meet between the Bison and Mountain Hawks came down to the final relay, the 400 freestyle relay. The Lehigh quartets ultimately touched the wall first and third, propelling their team past Bucknell, which had pulled ahead by a 141-136 margin thanks to a win by Matt McGoey and a runner-up showing by Carter Weiland in the 200 IM, the proceeding event.
• On Jan. 25, 2020, the Mountain Hawks downed the Bison, 195-93, in Bethlehem.

• The Bison conclude their dual meet schedule by welcoming Loyola (Md.) to Kinney Natatorium on Saturday, April 10.
