
Swim & Dive Sweeps Lehigh on Senior Day

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams swept Lehigh on Saturday at Kinney Natatorium.
On a day the Bison celebrated their 15 seniors, the women's team (2-0, 2-0 PL) scored a 175-119 victory while the men's team (1-1, 1-1 PL) prevailed, 192-89. The two teams combined to win a staggering 23 individual events and one relay.
On the women's side, Alexis Faria, Kate Gottwald, Sabrina Vumbacco and Maggie Wyngowski each won two events. Notably, Gottwald's score of 257.70 in the 1-meter dive was the sixth highest in Bucknell history; the first year swept the diving events for the second-straight meet.
On the men's side, John Gehrig led the way with three victories. Noah Basista and Leo Kuyl added two wins apiece; the duo also swam on the first-place 200 medley relay team.
The Bison went 1-2-3 in the men's 100 breaststroke, 1-meter dive and 3-meter dive and in the women's 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle. With the meet well in hand, they swam the 200 IM races and 200 freestyle relays as exhibitions.
Bucknell concludes its dual meet schedule by welcoming Loyola (Md.) to Kinney Natatorium on Saturday, April 10.
