CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell first year infielder Grant Voytovich has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week after helping Bucknell to a 3-1 weekend against Army at Depew Field.
Voytovich, a first year from Mars, Pennsylvania, appeared in two games for the Bison over the weekend, but managed two hits in each.
Voytovich plated Jacob Corson to put Bucknell up 2-0 in Bucknell's 14-5 win in game two of the series, and also added two hits in the series finale with a run scored.
The hits for Voytovich were the first of the season for the first year, and helped a Bison offense which scored 28 runs over four games.
Voytovich marks the second straight Bucknell player who has earned a Patriot League weekly award after Corson was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week one week prior, and was one of four Bison who picked up at least four hits over the weekend along with Jake Wortman, Chris Cannizzaro, and Peter Marren.
Overall, the Bison managed 36 hits over the weekend, and took three of four from Army in a four-game series for the first time since 2015.
Bucknell returns to action on Wednesday with a road matchup at Pittsburgh before three conference games against Navy over the weekend.
