About the Bison
• The men's tennis team enters its second weekend of competition after going 1-1 last Saturday. Bucknell earned its first win of the season by defeating Saint Francis 5-2. The Bison fell 5-2 against Monmouth earlier that day.
• The Bison will face NJIT on Sunday for its lone match of the weekend.
• Sophomore Michael Owen was named the Patriot League Men's Tennis Player of the Week this week after a strong showing in Bucknell's first two matches. Owen went 2-0 in No. 1 doubles and picked up a No. 1 singles victory as well. Owen and his doubles partner, Cooper Bradshaw, are now 10-3 when playing together.
• Senior Marwan Abaza appeared in one match last weekend, winning in No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles with Nick Mueller against Monmouth.
• Mueller also earned his first singles win with the Bison. He was joined by rookie Tim Zelikovsky and Sam Yildirimlar in singles wins against Saint Francis.
• Bucknell is now 5-1 in doubles this season.
Scouting the Highlanders/Series History
• NJIT has opened the season with wins over Drexel and La Salle. The Highlanders finished 1-8 during a shortened season year spring.
• NJIT is led by senior Abdullah Fouad and junior Juan Bejarano. Fouad went 10-8 in singles last spring and is 2-0 this season.
• Bucknell last saw the Highlanders during the NJIT Spring Tournament last January. Bucknell's last dual match action against the Highlanders was in 2017, when the Bison fell 7-0 in Newark, N.J.

• Bucknell hits the road for its first away match of the season when it challenges Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia, Pa. Bucknell won 5-2 over the Hawks last February. This season's matchup will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 20.
