Ramos, who is only the second runner in program history to qualify twice for NCAAs and the first to do it twice individually, will look to improve upon her 141st-place finish in Oklahoma in the spring. Ramos will be the only Patriot League representative this year, and was one of two representatives on the spring along with Boston University's Andrea Claeson. Bucknell has now had a competitor at four of the past five NCAA Championships, with Kate Scott (2016), Christine Bendzinski (2017), and Ramos (2020, 2021) earning a bid since 2016.
Only one Patriot League runner has ever qualified more than once along with Ramos to the NCAA meet, with Keira Carlstrom of American accomplishing the feat three times form 2003-05. Ramos is now just one of five men or women in Patriot League history to qualify twice individually.
The senior will have experience running on Florida State's course, as she took part in the FSU Invite earlier this season on Friday, October 15. Ramos posted a strong performance that day in warm conditions, finishing ninth in the open race at the meet in a field of 194 runners. Saturday's race will figure to be more moderate conditions, with the temperature around race time nearing 60 degrees.
Ramos is the 13th Bucknell runner to compete at the National meet. Bucknell qualified as a team in 1999, with individual runners also qualifying in 1997, 2001, 2006, and 2016. Theresa Dennis, a 2020 Bucknell Hall of Fame inductee, recorded Bucknell's highest-ever finish at the NCAA Championships when she finished 73rd overall in 2001. The top 40 finishers will earn All-America honors.
