Men's Soccer Battles Binghamton to 1-1 Road Draw

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Bucknell men's soccer team battled Binghamton to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
The Bison (3-6-2, 1-2-1 PL) used a Sebastian Paz goal in the 87th minute to even the score against the Bearcats (7-2-1, 2-0-0 AE), snapping their opponent's shutout streak at three games in the process. Paz's equalizer, his second career strike, came on a volley following a long throw in by Jack Roberto.
During overtime, neither team sent a shot on goal. Binghamton had jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the game's 19th minute, taking advantage of a corner kick.
This was Bucknell's third-straight overtime game and fifth overall. The Bison moved to 1-2-2 in overtime tilts this season.
For Bucknell, Bennett Schwartz played all 110 minutes in net, making three saves. Paz led the Bison with two shots while Roberto's assist represented the first point of his collegiate career.
Bearcat forward Oliver Svalander paced all players with five shots. Binghamton held overall advantages in shots (15-7) and corners (5-3) while the teams were even in shots on goal (4-4).
Bucknell next resumes Patriot League play on Saturday with a 4 p.m. game at Colgate.
