RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Jackson Bussell, Jason Lohwater and Blake Wisdom all shot even-par 70s for the Bucknell A squad on Monday, and the Bison posted a 4-over 284 team score in round two of the Bucknell Invitational. All three are in the top 10 individually, and the Bison are tied for fourth place in the team standings heading into Tuesday's third and final round.
Lohwater led the Bison with a 1-under 69 in the opening round, and at 1-under for the tournament he sits in a tie for fifth place, five shots off the lead. Lohwater, who birdied holes 8, 9 and 15 on Monday, is one of six players in the field still in red numbers after 36 holes.
Bussell had a big day with five birdies, including three of the last four holes. His closing birdie at 18 brought him back to even par for the tournament, good for a tie for seventh place. Wisdom and freshman Michael Rudnick, who is playing for the Bison B squad, have both posted 70-70 thus far and are also T-7th.
It was a stellar finish for Rudnick, who bogeyed his first two holes of the day, and then proceeded to make 14 pars and two birdies the rest of the way. His birdie at the par-5 third hole got him going.
Jack Gardner, also playing for the B team, made it five Bison to shoot 70 on the day. Gardner made four birdies, including three in a four-hole stretch, en route to a front-nine 33. He was 3-under through 17, but a triple-bogey at 18 brought him back to even on the day. Gardner is +2 for the tournament and T-20th overall.
Bucknell's fourth counting score was a 74 from Josh Holtschlag, who also posted a 74 in the first round.
Rounding out the Bison B team, freshman Jake Maddaloni shot 72, and Max Orwicz carded a 77.
Ron Robinson of Monmouth followed up his opening-round 64 with a 70 on Monday, and he remains the individual leader at 6-under for the tournament. Niagara's Tyler Edholm is two shots back.
Colgate posted a second straight 280 to climb up four spots into the team lead at even par overall. Youngstown State is two back at 562 total, followed by Monmouth at 563 and Bucknell and Army at 565. Mount St. Mary's is sixth at 568.
