Women's Basketball to Host Colgate for Back-to-Back Home Games This Weekend
1/20/2021 1:34:00 PM | Women's Basketball
LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's basketball team is gearing up to host Colgate at Sojka Pavilion for back-to-back home games this weekend as the Bison approach the midway point of the regular season. A win on Saturday would give Bucknell a 7-0 record, matching the best start to a season in program history.
Through six games Bucknell once again leads the Patriot League in scoring defense, and with six different Bison scoring in double figures at least once this season Bucknell has proven it can find solid offensive production from an array of players on the roster. Tessa Brugler, Taylor O'Brien and Abby Kapp have each taken turns as Bucknell's leading scorer and all three are averaging double figures.
The key this weekend will be slowing down Colgate's four starting guards, including top scorers Alexa Brodie and Keelah Dixon. Bucknell's league-leading 3-point percentage defense will be charged with stopping two of the Patriot League's top 3-point shooters in Katlyn Ghavidel and Brodie.
The last time the two teams faced, Bucknell came away victorious in a back-and-forth affair at Colgate to clinch the 2019-20 Patriot League regular season title.
