8/20/2020 12:15:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Head coach Frank Fedorjaka announced Thursday that the Bucknell men's lacrosse team has added 13 newcomers.
"I'm very excited about this class," Fedorjaka said. "They are excellent students who come from great families. I'm impressed most by their potential. Their ceiling is very high."
The group includes 11 freshmen and two transfers. The newcomers hail from five U.S. states, New York (6), Connecticut (2), Maryland (2), California and Pennsylvania, and one Canadian province, Ontario. Six midfielders, three attackmen, two defensemen, one faceoff specialist and one long-stick midfielder are included in the group.
"This is one of the most talented offensive classes we've ever had," Fedorjaka said. "Overall, this is a very athletic group that will immediately make our team better."
The Bison were off to an impressive 5-1 start when the 2020 season was cut short due to the covid-19 public health threat. They lost four seniors to graduation following that abbreviated campaign, including All-Patriot League honorees Will Yorke and Conor Shears. Yorke, the team's leading point producer in 2020 and 2019, was tabbed as the 2020 Inside Lacrosse Breakthrough Player of the Year.
In 2021, Bucknell returns All-Patriot League defenseman Bryant Boswell and Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American Travis Talarico; the team also returns dangerous attackman Tommy Sopko, who has made three-straight appearances in its top three in goals.
