GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Led by a bogey-free 69 from Chris Tanabe, four Bucknell players shot even-par or better on Saturday, and the Bison posted a 5-under-par team score of 283 in the second round of the Loyola Invitational at Palm Valley Golf Club.

At 1-under 575 for the tournament, Bucknell remains in sixth place in a quality 19-team field heading into Monday's final round. The Bison are just one shot behind the fifth-place Greyhounds, who are the only other Patriot League team in the field.

Drake compiled a 282 on Saturday to jump into first place in the team standings with an 8-under 568 total. First-round leader Loyola Marymount is one back at 569, followed by Seton Hall (571) and Eastern Michigan (573).

Tanabe closed the day with back-to-back birdies at 17 and 18 to shoot 69, which was one of 12 Saturday rounds in the 60s in the field of 112 players. Tanabe moved up 19 spots to a tie for 15th place.

Freshman Jackson Bussell shot his second straight 1-under 71, and he is T-11th through 36 holes. Bussell made the turn at 1-over then tallied a 2-under 34 on the back nine with birdies at 11 and 13.

Bucknell also counted a 71 from Peter Bradbeer and a 72 from Jason Lohwater. Bradbeer made four birdies against three bogeys, finishing with a birdie at the par-4 18th to post a red number. Lohwater birdied the second hole, bogeyed the fifth, and parred the other 16.

Blake Wisdom also played very well in round two, but his 2-over 74 was discarded. Wisdom had three birdies in a five-hole span on the back nine.

Air Force's Joseph Crisostomo and Delaware's Roberto Nieves are tied for the individual lead at 6-under 138. Drake's Nick Pittman and Loyola Marymount's Gavin Cohen are one back. Zach Sudinsky of Eastern Michigan had the round of the day with a 66 and is one of four players at -4.

The third and final round gets underway on Monday morning.
