KENT, Ohio – Kaitlin Salisbury set a top-ten program mark in the 200 in placing second to highlight the first day of competition at the Doug Raymond Invitational on Friday evening.
Day One Results
"We had a few breakthrough performances today," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "Salisbury looked great in the 200 with an indoor PR, and is inching closer to our school record. We had big marks from Deschler, Bellucci, and Beyer in the 5k also with nice PRs. It was also nice to see Macones make the final in the long jump."
Salisbury, who owned the third-fastest time in Bucknell history entering the meet (24.84) improved upon that mark (24.69) in placing second to Nikki Scherer of Pittsburgh to remain third in the all-time rankings.
Adding a runner-up finish in the 5000 was Emily Deschler (17:50.94), leading four Bucknell runners in the top 12. Mia Bellucci (5th, 18:02.57), Hope Beyer (6th, 18:03.05), and Jamie Falla (12th, 18:28.14) all placed in the top half of the field of 25.
In the long jump, Gianna Macones (17-9.5) placed seventh in a field of 28, while Delia Sipe (19th, 46-10.75) and Daija Misler (20th, 46-09) earned top-20 finishes on the day in the weight throw.
Additionally, Lia Zavattaro (5th, 10-10), Carolina McGann (10-4), and Anna Kender (10-4) all placed in the top ten in the unseeded section of the pole vault.
