Women's Basketball Makes Trip to Annapolis for Wednesday Night Game at Navy

Bucknell women's basketball hits the road this week for a Wednesday night game at Navy in Annapolis, Md. The Bison are off to a 2-0 start in league play following Sunday's 50-36 victory over Lafayette. Bucknell, which has won seven of its last eight games, has allowed the fewest points per game of any Patriot League team this season.
Meanwhile, the Mids are in the midst of a 5-game losing skid after beginning the season 5-3 and are still in search of their first Patriot League win. Wednesday's game will be Bucknell's 69th all-time meeting with Navy. Over the last 10 years, Bucknell and Navy have played two overtime games, one double-overtime game, and have met in the Patriot League tournament five times.

• Sunday was the second time the Bison have held an opponent under 40 points this season, and Bucknell now ranks second in the league in scoring defense (57.6).Â
• Bucknell has limited opponents to under 30 percent shooting three times this season and under 30 percent from the arc five times.
• Bucknell committed just six personal fouls against Lafayette. It's the second time this season the Bison have committed less than 10 in a game. The Leopards made no trips to the charity stripe.

• Navy dropped its second Patriot League game to Holy Cross on Saturday, 58-49, and fell to 5-8 on the season. The Mids are currently in the midst of a 5-game losing skid after beginning the season 5-3.
• Navy carried a 27-22 lead into halftime before being outscored 36-22 in the second half against the Crusaders.
• Navy's margin of victory in its five wins is 18 points, including a 13-point victory over Clemson back on Nov. 9. However, the Mids are averaging just 47.8 points over the last five games.
• Navy is third in the Patriot league in turnover margin (+3.92). The Mids average 17.9 forced turnovers per game and are second in the league in steals per game (11.5).
• Navy and Bucknell have shared one common opponent this season in George Mason. Navy fell to the Patriots 67-58 on Dec. 19, while Bucknell downed the Patriots 64-51 15 days prior.
• Last time out, Navy was led by a 16-point effort from senior Lauren Jaunich, who sank 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Freshman Lindsay Llewellyn also reached double-figures, adding a career-high 13 points in the loss.

Bucknell stays on the road for a Saturday afternoon game against Holy Cross. The Crusaders, who are also 9-4 and 2-0 in league play, were picked one spot ahead of Bucknell in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. Holy Cross holds a 45-24 advantage in the all-time series, but the Bison have won eight of the last 10 matchups. Saturday's game is set to tip at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.Â
