Women's Basketball Challenges Second-Place Colgate in Sojka Pavilion Wednesday

First-place Bucknell and second-place Colgate square off at Sojka Pavilion Wednesday evening for the 72nd all-time meeting between the two programs. The game features the Patriot League's best scoring offense going up against the best scoring defense, as well as two preseason All-Patriot League players in Ellie Mack and Rachel Thompson. Both teams are off to hot starts in Patriot League play and are a combined 11-1 within the conference.Â
Bucknell is coming off one of its best offensive performances of the year after shooting 52.9 percent and making 11 3-pointers in a win over Lehigh. The Bison also allowed no more than 50 points for a sixth straight game. The Raiders have scored at least 70 points in five straight contests and are looking to collect a 14th win on the season for the first time since 2004.
The first 500 fans in attendance at Wednesday's game will receive a free pedometer, courtesy of Geisinger.

• Bucknell took sole possession of first place in the Patriot League with a 71-50 win at preseason favorite Lehigh on Saturday. It was the sixth straight double-digit victory for Bucknell, which has won 11 of its last 12 games. 11 of Bucknell's 13 victories this season have come by double-digits.Â
• Since beginning conference play, Bucknell has held opponents to .306 shooting and 42.5 points per game. Meanwhile, the Bison have shot .442 and averaged 60.7 points per game. Bucknell's +10 scoring margin is best in the Patriot League.
• Bucknell's 53.9 points allowed per game ranks 12th in the country. The Bison also lead the Patriot League in free throw percentage, field goal percentage defense, and rebounding defense.Â
• Bucknell's 3-point shooting percentage (.373) is 18th overall in the country. The Bison have made 19-of-36 (.525) attempts from the arc in the last two games.
• Junior guard Abby Kapp, who was an honorable mention for Patriot League Player of the Week last week, had a career performance against Lehigh with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Kapp went 10-for-15 from the arc last week and is seven made 3-pointers away from moving into fourth all-time in program history.
• Senior Ellie Mack also scored in double-figures twice last week and has done so in 14 games this season. Mack is fourth in the league in scoring at 14.3 points per game and has a made 3-pointer in all but two contests this season.Â
• Junior Ally Johnson reemerged in the starting lineup against American and is averaging 9.8 points in games she's started. Johnson has made multiple threes in nine games this season.Â
• Along with Mack and Kapp, junior Tessa Brugler is also averaging double-digit scoring this season. Brugler is in the league's top five for field goal percentage (.513), free throw percentage (.817), and offensive rebounds (3.1).

About Colgate
• Colgate moved into second place in Patriot League standings with a 70-61 win at Boston on Wednesday. The Raiders have won five straight after losing their Patriot League opener at American. Behind the Bison, Colgate has the longest winning streak in the league.
• At 13-4 overall, the Raiders already have their winningest season since 2003-04.
• As a team, Colgate leads the patriot League in scoring offense (72.2) and in field goal percentage (.456). The Raiders have scored 70 or more points in 12 games, including a 100-point outing vs. Army. The Raiders have shot better than .400 in seven straight contests.
• Senior guard Rachel Thompson, who has been named Patriot League Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, leads the Patriot League with 17.8 points per game. She's also first in assists and second in steals. Thompson was named to the Her Hoops Mid-Major Player of the Year watch list last week.
• Senior forward Abby Schubiger is also scoring in double-figures at 10.9 points per game. Schubiger is averaging 14 points per game since beginning league play. She leads the conference with a .562 field goal percentage.
• The Raiders have yet to lose at home this season, but are 5-4 in away games.Â
