• Bucknell is currently 5-5 (4-3 Patriot League) after falling to Boston College, 181-113, on Senior Day at Kinney Natatorium last week.
• Bucknell's 5-2 start was its best since the 2013-14 campaign. That season, the Bison went 5-1 (4-0 Patriot League) in their first six duals en route to a 7-3 (5-1 Patriot League) record.
• In 2018-19, Bucknell went 3-5 (3-4 Patriot League). The Bison went on to place third (397 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and fourth (313 points) at the 24-team ECAC Championships.
• Chadd Cummings (2nd), Charlie McFarland (2nd) and Matt McGoey (2nd) were Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League honorees. McGoey made the All-Patriot League Second Team for the second year in a row.
• Of Bucknell's 2019 All-Patriot League selections, Cummings and McFarland were lost to graduation.
• McGoey is the lone returning individual school record holder; he owns the Bison standard in the 200 IM (1:47.84).
• Returnees Jacob Lubinski (400 medley), McGoey (200 freestyle), Liam Pitt (200 medley, 200 freestyle) and Jack Rose (200 medley) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• The Bison are very young in 2019-20, featuring a roster with 27 underclassmen. They have only two seniors: McGoey and Michael Park.
• The program welcomed nine newcomers in 2019-20. They hail from five different states: California (4), New York (2), Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Lehigh at a Glance
• Lehigh is currently 5-1 (3-0 Patriot League). The Mountain Hawks most recently competed at the Rutgers Invitational on Dec. 4-7 because their dual meet at Army West Point on Jan. 10 was canceled.
• Lehigh finished fifth at the 2019 Patriot League Championships with 330 points. That season, the Mountain Hawks went 6-2 (3-2 Patriot League) in dual competition.
• Bucknell leads the all-time series with Lehigh, 37-20. The Mountain Hawks snapped a six-meet losing skid to the Bison with their 155-133 victory in Bethlehem, Pa. on Jan. 20, 2018.
• Lehigh again got the better of Bucknell during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring a tight 149-145 victory at Kinney Natatorium. The rivalry dual meet between the Bison and Mountain Hawks came down to the final relay, the 400 freestyle relay. The Lehigh quartets ultimately touched the wall first and third, propelling their team past Bucknell, which had pulled ahead by a 141-136 margin thanks to a win by Matt McGoey and a runner-up showing by Carter Weiland in the 200 IM, the proceeding event.
A Look Ahead
• The Bison attend the Navy Invite on Saturday, Feb. 1 in their final tune-up before the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 19-22.
