LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's tennis took three championship titles, as well as a third place finisher on the third and final day of the Bucknell Invitational. Dax Seidlin and Sofia Ayuso each came out on top in their respective brackets, while the A singles title went to Bucknell as a shared victory.
Daniela Bellini and Cayla Koch each advanced to the championship round of the A singles bracket but did not play the final match. Bellini took home the title in the top flight last year as a freshman.
Seidlin came out on top in B singles after facing Alexandra Blackwell of Howard. The freshman won the championship match 6-0, 6-3. Seidlin also won the A doubles bracket yesterday playing alongside Koch. Senior Jill Auteri had a nice weekend, coming in second in the C singles bracket after a 6-0, 6-0 win in the semis. Â
Coming in first in the D singles bracket was Ayuso. Ayuso defeated Howard's Dominique Jackson 6-4, 6-1 to give the Bison their third singles title of the weekend.
Bucknell also performed well in C singles with Maddie Rippa and Rachel Carroll sharing third place. Bucknell won both doubles brackets yesterday thanks to efforts by Koch, Seidlin, Bellini, and Ayuso.
Bucknell goes to Annapolis, Md. next weekend to participate in the Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational.
