Mirra Manolov Clinches the Match for the Bison as They Defeat Duquesne 4-3

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Mirra Manolov clinched the 4-3 victory for Bucknell as it defeated Duquesne at home. The senior clinched the match with her 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 4 singles spot. The Bison improved to 6-5 overall with the win.
Bucknell dropped the doubles point with its lone win coming at the No.1 spot as Abby Platt and Riley Jennings defeated their opponents 6-3.
After falling to 0-1 early Tori Allen took the first singles match of the day with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot. Duquesne's Badics then re-gained the lead for the Dukes with a win at the No. 2 spot, but Platt then won her No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-4 to tie it back at 2-2. Duquesne re-gained the lead once again as Roka defeated Summer Even-Esh in the No. 6 singles match, but Cameron King tied the game at three apiece with her court five win 6-4, 6-3. With the match relying on Manolov in the No. 4 singles spot, the captain captured the Bison Win in three sets.
Bucknell will return to the Central PA Tennis Center on Sunday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m. against Michigan State.
