About the Bison
- Bucknell won Hartford's spring tournament last April at Tumble Brook CC, and now the Bison return to the area for this weekend's tournament at Wintonbury Hills GC.
- Bucknell is coming off a ninth-place finish at Penn State's Nittany Lion Invitational. The Bison posted team scores of 304-313-314, with the first-round tally the best of the season to date. Bucknell has averaged 311.2 over six rounds.
- Casey Morrow has been Bucknell's top player in both fall events thus far. After finishing T-18th at the Bucknell Invitational, she placed T-22nd last week with rounds of 74-78-74. Morrow leads the team with a 75.7 average.
- Just behind Morrow is freshman Sahana Paravantavida, who is 6-for-6 in terms of rounds in the 70s this season. Paravantavida has a 77.3 average and has had a +4 round in each tournament thus far.
- Meredith Langs has had good first and third rounds in each of the first two events and is averaging 78.5 for the season. She shot 76-83-78 at Bucknell and 76-80-78 at Penn State.
- Bucknell will have two freshmen in the lineup this weekend in Paravantavida and Tatum McKelvey. They will be joined by Morrow, Langs and Erin Holmes, with Sun Woo Jeon playing as an individual.
- Bucknell has played in a tournament hosted by Hartford three times, but all three have been spring events. The Bison have fared well in them, however, finishing fifth in 2000 and third in 2001 before winning last spring.
- Meredith Langs shot 77-73 to win the individual title last spring. Casey Morrow finished third, and Erin Holmes, Sun Woo Jeon and Sally Sohn tied for seventh as the Bison outdistanced runner-up Fairfield by a whopping 45 shots.
- Hartford won its fall tournament a year ago by 17 shots over runner-up Siena.
- The Bison return to action on Oct. 14-15 at the Towson Invitational at Eagle's Nest CC.
