Bison Men's Tennis Team Earns ITA Academic Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- For the sixth year in a row, the Bucknell men's tennis team received an All-Academic Team award from the International Tennis Association (ITA). The award is given to all ITA programs that have a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above. The Bison easily met the criteria with a stellar 3.54 team GPA in the 2019 spring semester.
In addition to the team award, Bucknell had three student-athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes, including 2019 magna cum laude graduate Andrei Vitiuc, who received the honor for the fourth year in a row. Vitiuc, a geography major earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in his final semester. Rising sophomore Ryan Jurist also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors after posting a 3.91 GPA in Bucknell's Freeman College of Management. Jurist was also Bucknell's winningest dual-match singles player in the spring with a 14-8 record.
ITA Scholar-Athlete honors are awarded to varsity letterwinners with a GPA of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale.
